The higher seats of education in universities shows quantum growth in the Higher Education sector is spearheaded.
In India “University” means a University is established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, a provincial Act or a State Act and includes any such institutions as may, in consultation with the University, concerned, recognised by the University Grant Commission (UGC) in accordance with the regulations made in this regard under the UGC Act, 1956.

Every year millions of student within the country and abroad, choose these portals mainly for their graduate, post-graduate studies while millions leave this portal for the world outside. Education i.e. even higher education is the shared responsibility of both Centre and state. The coordination and determination of standard universities and colleges are entrusted to the UGC and other statutory regulatory bodies.

UGC grants are provided by the central Government and also to the establish Central Universities/Institutions of National Importance in the country. On the recommendations of UGC, the Deemed-to-be-University” are the responsibility of the central government for declaring an educational institution.

At present, the main categories of University/University-level Institution are – Central Universities, State Universities, Deemed-to-be Universities, and University-level institutions.
